Peter Williams set to challenge supply chain leaders to go beyond resilience
Peter Williams, Chief Edge Officer, Centre for the Edge at Deloitte Australia, is set to open CeMAT AUSTRALIA 2022 by addressing the need to redefine the art of the possible in the face of uncertainty (in an uncertain world).
At 9:30am on 19 July at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), his talk will set the scene – with inspiration and calls to action – to rethink the supply chain. He will urge businesses affected by the pandemic, its flow on effects, and this volatile geopolitical environment to reframe the way they operate.
Calling attention to industry’s biggest markers for success, he will offer guidance and provide practical examples from the frontline. “Societal and policy issues are also at the forefront, with the demand for greater focus on climate, waste, emissions and ethical practices,” he says.
“At the same time, we have seen that organisations and individuals have been able to meet challenges using digital technologies, surfacing the innovation capability that was always there but suppressed. The shift to online commerce, separating work and home, both working and accessing talent from anywhere and building new networks with a focus on flexibility has been breathtaking.”
He will draw on real world examples and innovations from his work in a career that has attracted an inexhaustible list of achievements and accolades, and include:
-
Founder of eBusiness Consulting group in 1996 for Deloitte Australia which became Deloitte Digital, now employing more than 10,000 employees in more than 25 countries.
-
Chairman of Deloitte’s Innovation Council
-
Driving digital initiatives involving a wide range of technologies in areas such as IOT, AI, Virtual and Augmented Reality – and incorporating them into physical environments
-
Co-founder of packaging marketplace, Packform.io
-
Patron of the Peter Williams Award for Technology Innovation awarded by the Australian Human Resource Institute
-
Recipient of the Deloitte Partner Award for Social Impact based on his work on community led recovery after the Black Saturday Bushfires
